The proposed thesis on Australian International Police: Effective Track II Diplomacy, will explore the involvement of Australian international police from historical, contemporary and future perspectives, with particular emphasis on the effectiveness of the secondary or ‘behind the scenes’ diplomacy roles performed by them in many places in the world.

The author has been a member of the AFP for twenty years and has served with the UN in Cyprus and East Timor, and has witnessed the AFP grow in stature to become a legitimate participant in Australian foreign policy considerations. He presently works with the International Deployment Group.
